Thanks for your patience as we construct a World Class Website.

The Curriculum Foundation (www.curriculumfoundation.org) is delighted and excited to host the international debate on ‘What constitutes a world Class Curriculum’?

We are seeking to work with partners and interested individuals around the globe to develop ‘a universal language of curriculum’, culminating in an international conference in 2012 where we can bring people together to share their understandings, aspirations and commitment to ensure ‘Every young person enters adulthood with the confidence, the ability and the desire to make the world a better place’ and enjoys an ‘irresistible curriculum that engages all learners, challenges them intellectually, nourishes them spiritually, encourages their creativity and develops them as well rounded human beings ready to take their place in society.

What would a world class curriculum look and feel like to you?

A World Class Curriculum should.

          • have a clear set of aims (developing the whole person and the person in relation to society)
          • secure fluency in essential skills (literacy, numeracy, information skills, social and emotion skills)
          • give access to major domains of human endeavour
          • make connections between subjects - and connections to work
          • be balanced and value the intellectual, physical, emotions, social, scientific, aesthetic development of young people
          • be connected to local communities and have an international dimension
          • address contemporary issues as well as the big ideas that have shaped the world in the past
          • have space for child initiated learning throughout - from play to extended projects
          • including a wide repertoire of teaching and learning strategies, including project based learning, design based learning etc
